Counselling Psychologist
Thirushni Chanel Sam

If you experience any of the following, you may benefit from what I have to offer:
Want something different for yourself but seem unable to make the change? Are concerned by your own or someone else’s substance use or repeated behaviour? Feel stuck? Are worried about your stress levels? Feel overwhelmed or out of control? Feel unhappy and depressed a lot of the time? Are struggling to adjust after a sudden change or traumatic event? Everyone experiences difficulties and crises at times in their lives and sometimes these can be overcome on your own or with the help of friends. However, sometimes it’s just not possible to manage alone, especially where there have been efforts to change a situation or habit and these have been unsuccessful. I strongly believe in the ability of each person, given the right conditions, to implement change and to improve their lives. I offer a professional and non- judgmental environment in which people can explore their current situation and possible change. I am experienced in working with people with anxiety and depression and all types of addiction.

Individual Psychotherapy

"Therapy isn't a one sided session of a professional telling a client what to do. It's about the client learning the "who, what, where and why" answers to what is causing them to struggle in life."

I am an experienced Counselling Psychologist with a demonstrated history of working in the education sector. I am particularly passionate about working with adolescents and young adults at my practice. Whether you have childhood wounds that you would like to heal, have recently experienced a loss, are having relationship difficulties or find yourself struggling with major life adjustments, therapy can be useful to explore your thoughts and feelings in a safe space free of judgement. Therapy can also help you to manage losses and 6stressors that trigger depression, anxiety , or unhealthy coping behaviours, and can make you aware of certain unhelpful patterns that affect how you experience yourself, others and the world. We will work together in a way that aims to facilitate healing and growth throughout your therapeutic journey. I understand that starting therapy can be a daunting, anxiety provoking experience and you may have a lot of questions before booking that first session.
